We invite you to go outdoors in 2020

Visit Wales – Wales’s tourism marketing body – is encouraging visitors and residents to get outside this year with their annual promotional campaign. Crowned the ‘Year of Outdoors‘, 2020 is your opportunity to get outside, have fun, try something new and experience the Great Outdoors Welsh-style!

Why not take a closer look at what’s in store with this promotional video from Visit Wales?

Yes, you did see some familiar faces. Among other Welsh celebs, the likes of Eve Myles (Keeping Faith, Torchwood) and Luke Evans (The Hobbit, Beauty and the Beast) are lending their weight to the campaign by sharing their favourite open spaces and outdoor activities.

Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Lord Elis-Thomas, said: “There has always been an inherent relationship between people and the outdoors in Wales. It’s not just that our landscapes are awe-inspiring; they are steeped in the living history of our language and culture. In 2020, we’re inviting people to check in to our hotels, cottages and campsites – and then to throw open the doors and let the outside in.”

So, are you planning to get outdoors on your next visit to North Wales? Here’s some inspiration to help you plan your next epic adventure!

Ideas to get outdoors in 2020

1. Walk some or all of the Anglesey Coastal Path.

2. See Snowdonia on four legs not two with a horseback ride.

3. Try your hand at eFoil, the newest Watersport craze to come to RibRide.

4. Outdoors can also be underground, explore forgotten Welsh mines on a caving trip.

5. Hire a bike and hit the road… or the forest… or the trail… the choice is yours!

6. Go wet and wild at the National White Water Rafting Centre.

7. If you’ve got a head for heights, why not climb a tree?
